Sorry for being away for so long . Before the month of april goes by let me update the happenings till now.
For starters I switched jobs…yes finally. I think everyone who has gone through my posts ( even one or 2 posts I guess) would know how satisfied :P I was. So this was a welcome change and I am really really happy (touchwood)
Suvi and I have also shifted to a new house. So the past few weeks was mostly packing/unpacking/getting a feel of the new office. With all this going on, I was hardly left with anytime to blog. Now I am more or less settled. So,hopefully this blog should see more of me in the coming days…
Till then ..take care and have fun!

This and that..
I got a lappy way back in 2007, but its only been a mere handful number of times that I have used it. Seriously! Some engineer I am huh?? Frankly I have never been an extremely tech savvy person. I am not a net addict either. That also explains why I am so regular at blogging! But tell me after spending an insane amount of time in front of a pc at office, why should I come back and do that all over again, when I am not even being paid for it!
I am more of a chip from the old block. Give me a notebook and a pen and it feels like heaven ( Na..not even a type writer for me…..yes!! I am that old!) Throw me in a book store, (sometimes even a stationary store will do) and it feels like bliss :). Sometimes I think I was a librarian in my past birth, considering my love for books and being surrounded by them. Maybe the next season of ‘Raaz Pichle Janam Ka’ might have me confirming that.
Talking about books, I am currently reading ‘In cold blood’ by Truman Capote. I had seen the movie Capote earlier, but I think the book is more interesting. I know the movie wasn’t based on the book, so there can’t be any comparison. ‘Uncle Dynamite’ was the book I was reading before ‘In Cold Blood’. A typical Wodehouse story. I loved it ! I don’t think I can ever get tired of his books. I think I need to search for a decent library now, because the rate at which I am collecting books I shall soon run out of space :)

Back in Hyd!
Yes! I am finally back. Back to a lot of things, one of which happens to be my office.
It was a mixed feeling meeting people at office after so long. In a way I thought, nothing had really changed, but then in some other way, everything had! Funny!
Most of my good old friends are gone. The new ones are busy. Makes me feel really weird. Imagine having lunch alone in a crowded cafeteria or sipping tea all by yourself in some Godforsaken corner at office. But, I am not complaining. I am sure its just a phase and happier times are just around the corner. I can sense it .
Hyderabad by the way has changed a bit over the past year. There are new flyovers, wider roads, brand new roads and now that I come to think of it a brand new CM! Just goes to show change is constant.
So this pretty much sums up all that I have been upto the past couple of weeks. Hopefully I shall be able to blog more frequently now. So cya soon!

I am still an optimist!
As you all might have known by now, 2009 was a hellish year for me. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Take my job for starters. Things went horribly out of hand. My career right now, is sooooo off track. I have no clue where I am heading to.
And whats with this human nature, I ask. Oh! someone please tell me! Tell me why is that when I want to be happy for my friends (who have hit jackpots in their professional lives) I feel this tinge (more than a mere tinge actually) of sadness. Am I jealous? That is the last thing I want to be!
I come across these inspirational articles in the paper/magazines every now and then. They talk about being postive and basically bring in positiviy in everything around you. Will someone please give me a practical demo? I mean how do you do it ? and how much can you do it? There is a limit to everything I suppose.
As I said earlier "Everything that could go wrong....". Well that "Everything" includes my health also. I fell very very ill. Pretty bad I must say. I am back to normal now (hopefully) after months of painful suffering. The worst part of it was to see people close to me having a hard time, all thanks to me!
I wonder, if I can now safely say that all that happened was a thing of the past. But anyway, taking a cue from those above mentioned articles I do want to believe that every dark cloud does have a silver lining. So right now I am just waiting for my stars to align and a miracle to happen. The miracle I am talking about is getting into my dream job! Now is it too much of positivity to bring in? ( or is it just wishful thinking??) I am an optimist after all!!

Happy New Year!
A very Happy New Year to all my readers ! May this year bring you everything that you have wished for :D
I was quite busy, the past few days. New years was fun. Relatives had come over and we all had a nice family lunch together. Called up a few old friends. Reconnected with college friends. College life feels like a thing from the ancient past! So much has happened in between...and soooooooooo much happened to me last year :|
2009 will definitely not go down as one of the great years in my life. But yes...as they all say..I have indeed, learnt a lot more from this single year than all the other years of my life put together.
I do not have any new year resolutions for 2010 as such..but yea..I do want to write more. Did you guys make any resolutions this year? Let me know. Will be back soon :)

Driving and Me.
Recently I began driving. I have had a license for a while now ( does that raise a few eyebrows??). Well I learnt driving years ago, just that I never had the time to practise which in other words translates to "some people wouldn't let me drive their car!!" So, you ask naturally, "What has brought about the change now?" Ofcourse you have presumed that I still do not own a car. You are right! Unfortunately I don't. As to the question you have asked, I seriously do not have a reasonable answer.
The place where I am staying currently is more of a small town. So, you find more of narrow lanes, unruly traffic and most importantly people who get scandalized at the mere sight of a lady/girl/woman ..well any sort of female species driving! When I say unruly traffic, I am mostly trying to generalize things like...
1. Folks who believe they belong to the royal lineage, so naturally they need the entire road when they drive and ofcourse it hurts their sentiments if you overtake, so they just make sure you can't. Honking/No honking, they just don't care.
2. If you have watched the movie Kaante, you'll know what I am talking about. In othr words the human chain. I call it the Kaante style driving wherein you'll find a group of people holding hands and driving bikes ( well mostly bikes, heaven forbid if they start driving cars that way! No please God, Spare me!!)
3. People who feel the best place to chit chat is right in the middle of a road. So, when you honk at them, they give you the "What the hell!!" sort of a look.
4. Cows/Buffaloes munching the cud to glory on the road (obviously!).
5. Pedestrians, who as a rule cross the road when they see a car hurtling towards them at breakneck speed.
The list is never ending really. After reading this you are bound to ask " Is there any need to experiment my driving in the above mentioned scenarios?" I say "YES!". Where else do you think I'll have ample reason to give to the car owner when he asks me " What on earth have you done to my car??!!" :D

Days of the week.
I have always wondered, which day of the week goes best for me. Fridays, I believed were really great until a few months ago. I am sure a lot of people, mostly software folks will surely pick friday as their best day. The TGIF thing. People hardly work on fridays, I don't :p . But, when you get to the Govt. servants, its more likely, that they pick Sunday, or maybe Saturday. Actually come to think of it, some folks might actually say a monday or a tuesday. I mean not everyone detests week days or work days right??
I sometimes hate sundays, because the next day is monday!! ( talk about finding a reason to hate things!). Most definitely, I suffer from monday morning blues. Tuesdays for me, just go by, as if they don't even exist. I am so buried in work by then. Wednesdays are sort of okay. Sometimes they get really good. I believe I am at my creative best on Wednesdays. ( don't ask me why, I have no proof) Though my work doesn't need an iota of creativity.
Coming to Thursdays. I am always a little skeptical about them. They can go either way for me. I have had good and bad things happening to me on this day. Next day- Friday ! Not soooo happy with them anymore. More of a mixed bag.
Saturdays have been good off late. Get to eat good food and laze around a lot :). Nice. About Sundays, I think the mornings are best. In the evenings, the blues of the next day start taking over :p
So, all in all that is what I generally feel about the entire week. Today being a tuesday, I better get back to work :p

Suvi And Me!
Suvi and me,
are like chalk and cheese.
He likes the shares,
and I like the music.
Mercury is Suvi.
Pluto is more like me.
Suvi is sincere,
'Laid-back' - me!
Suvi and me,
are not totally chalk and cheese.
We both are goofy,
and we both love the movies.
He cracks jokes,
the joke is on me.
I get sarcastic.
My subject is Suvi.
I have the problems,
Suvi solves them all.
When I get irritated(with him),
Suvi has a ball!
Suvi is the fire,
I am the breeze.
Want good company?
come to Suvi and me!

Memory Issues - I
As a kid, I was proud of my memory retention skills. I was good at remembering faces, names, birthdays, latest car models.....well you name it and I would remember! As days progressed someone up there decided its high time and something ought to be done. I did not even realise when the deterioration started, until one day , rather evening ,when it hit me right on my face.
This was way back during the third year of my engineering. After spending the summer break at home in Kolkatta, I was heading back to college in Ranchi. At the station, I met my room mate's Father. He asked me a very casual question, a question which had no association with rocket science, whatsoever!
Friend's Dad: So where do you stay in Kolkatta?
Me(smiling): ??!!?? ( blank)
.....after 10 seconds........
Me(still smiling): ??!!?? (still blank...like a recently formatted pc!)
Friend's Dad (with a concerned smile): Never mind....( she is too young for alzheimers!!)
This is when my room mate, thankfully stepped into my rescue. I have nothing to say to my defense really. Neither was I new to Kolkatta, nor was the name of the location (where I stayed in Kol) a tongue-twister of any sort.
After this, there were many more incidents to follow like ...
1... the time when I ask one of the most dreaded Profs in college to repeat his question ( during a viva exam), not because I was trying to buy time, but..yes!! I did manage to forget the question as soon as I heard it. ( Can you beat that!! Can anyone beat that!!!!)
2...right now ... yes!! I have forgotten what my second incident was...but I assure you I will be back with Memory Issues - II as soon as I remember.
